Senior volunteers share their knowledge, warmth, and compassion with children. Volunteers work as aides in schools, day care centers, Head Start programs, and family support centers.  Foster Grandparents commit 20-40 hours weekly and receive a monthly stipend (which does not affect other entitlements.)

Family Caregiver Program –  410-396-4932 (www.baltimorecitycaregivers.com) Baltimore City Health Department provides information, assistance, respite, training, and supplemental services to family caregivers, 55+, including those raising their grandchildren.

Meals on Wheels – 410-558-0827 (www.mealsonwheelsmd.org) Helps homebound people eat well and continue to live in their own homes by preparing and delivering 800,000+ nutritious meals a year in Maryland.  Also provides grocery shopping, phone pals, and other support services to help people maintain independence. Sliding scale fee. Application required.
